Training Programs
Practical, scenario-based medical training designed for the field — from remote wilderness environments to everyday emergencies.
Course 01
Wilderness & Remote First Aid (WRFA) is a two-day American Red Cross certification course designed for anyone who spends time in the backcountry, leads outdoor programs, or works in remote environments where emergency medical services may be hours — or days — away. You'll learn to assess and manage medical emergencies using the resources you have on hand, make smart evacuation decisions, and provide sustained care until professional help arrives. This course meets American Red Cross and BSA standards for wilderness first aid certification.
In Wilderness & Remote First Aid, you'll develop the skills and confidence to respond effectively when the nearest hospital is far out of reach. Through hands-on skill sessions, realistic scenarios, and instructor-led discussions, you'll learn to assess an injured or ill person from head to toe, control life-threatening bleeding, manage spinal injuries, treat environmental emergencies like hypothermia and heat stroke, and much more.
This course goes beyond standard first aid by teaching you to think critically in dynamic, resource-limited settings. You'll practice working as part of a team, communicating with rescue services, building improvised equipment from what's around you, and making the call on when to evacuate — and how fast.
